Needham Market's penultimate home game of the 2022-23 campaign pits the Marketmen up against local Suffolk rivals Leiston, who will be at the very least looking to maintain the second place position in the league table, while Kevin Horlock's side will look to extend their 6 point buffer from the relegation zone and climb back up the table after Saturday results saw them drop down to 16th with Horlock's side just five points behind 13th placed Hitchin Town.
The Marketmen, who returned home from Alvechurch on Friday with a point following a 1-1 draw (report available on the website), will be aiming to pick up a second victory over Leiston this season in the third meeting between the two sides, with a fourth to come on Tuesday 18th April at Stowmarket Town in the Suffolk Premier Cup Semi-Finals.
After a 3-1 Emirates FA Cup home win for Needham over Leiston, which saw Patrick Brothers, Jacob Lay and Ross Crane on target after Will Davies had put Leiston ahead, while a Luke Ingram penalty did have Needham level in the second half of the league visit to Leiston in a 2-1 last gasp defeat in December.
On Monday, which kicks off at the slightly earlier time of 1pm, supporters will be asked to vote for their Player Of The Season, while the club will also be holding a collection for midfielder Patrick Brothers who broke his leg in the home draw with Nuneaton Borough on the gate and we ask all in attendance to kindly donate any possible funds to help support Patch.
