DEFEAT AT HOME TO CHESTER

Kevin Horlock's side made one change to Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Rushall Olympic, Adam Mills started ahead of Ollie Fraser with Keiran Morphew returning to the substitutes bench.

On the balance of play, a draw was the least both teams deserved, with Garnham on hand to claim a looping header at goal early on.

While Tom Peers curled a shot over the far corner in acres of space, Marcus Garnham was on hand to hold onto a low shot from a tight angle after 15 minutes.

While Allen and Lambe both saw shots blocked for Needham just seconds apart, Luke Ingram rifled a 30-yard shot just over on 23 minutes.

Ingram meanwhile couldn't quite connect with Hammond's audacious cross, before a crucial defensive header prevented Mills from meeting Hammond's cross into the six yard box in the 39th minute.

Mills though had the best chance of the first half, bursting into the Chester box before seeing his shot tipped over by Manchester United loanee Harrison on 42 minutes.

After the restart, it was Needham who had the majority of the better chances, Ingram cheated down a cross into the box but shot just over on 48 minutes.

After Dan Morphew blocked a shot on target, Garnham was on hand to comfortably hold onto a low curling shot across goal, followed by Tevan Allen's dangerous free-kick being deflected narrowly over for a corner.

Hammond saw a corner swung towards the near post headed away from goal with just over 20 minutes left, but it was Chester that broke the deadlock on 85 minutes, as Harrison Burke towered highest at close range to head home a corner.

Goalkeeper Marcus Garnham was then sent off for bringing down Willoughby in the box, but substitute goalkeeper Danny Cullum denied the Seals man, down low superbly to his right-hand side to beat the spot-kick behind, in the 93rd minute.

The Marketmen are on the road for the first of 3 straight away games, travelling to fellow league opposition Alfreton Town in the Isuzu FA Trophy on Saturday (3pm).
