Needham Market have recorded their first win of the season with a big morale boosting 4-3 win over newly promotedDussindale and Hellesdon at Bloomfields.
A very open first half saw four goals as the visitors struck first through Jess Harper before Needham turned it round with goals from Lucy Loomes and Rebecca Stephenson only for Dussindale to hit back thanks to Victoria Leyer.
Goals and chances continued to flow in the second half with Loomes bagging a second before Cate Jackson scored her first goal for the club, but Izzy Noakes made it a nervy finish.
Off the back of an uplifting performance against Bowers last week Needham started strong but found themselves behind after 10 minutes as they failed to clear a long throw and Harper cooly hit the ball from the edge of the box on the half volley.
The home sides response was a thing of beauty that started with Chloe Brame winning the ball high up before Lois Balfour played a perfect ball in behind for the impressive Jackson to gather and put the ball on a plate for Loomes from close range.
Confidence rose and the home side turned it around with Stephenson scoring her first goal for the club as she finished a rebound after Loomes had hit the post.
Dussindale responded before half time as Leyer finished after being played in by a delicious ball to make it all square at the break.
Needham had been the stronger side throughout and made a fast start with Loomes smashing from outside the box to restore the lead.
Then some daylight as Jackson grabbed her first goal for the club beating several players before buddling into the area and finishing low to cap off an excellent performance.
More chances came and went for the home before Dussindalemade it a contest again in controversial circumstances, as on the break Noakes slotted under Danni Clarke although claims of handball in the build-up were dismissed by the referee.
It was a nervy finish with Dussindale pushing for anotherleveller, while Needham could and should have killed it, it was relief at the full-time whistle.
After a summer of change it has been a tough start so to put two good back-to-back performances and now get that result gives the team lift off as we start to look up at those above us.
