The club is pleased to announce its retained list for the upcoming 2024/25 season in the National League North.
Goalkeeper Marcus Garnham will remain as our number 1, after keeping over 20 clean sheets last season in all competitions - including conceding very few goals at Bloomfields last campaign.
Right-back Jake Dye has also committed to staying with the Marketmen, having been a fans favourite since progressing through the club's Academy a few years back, and establishing himself in the starting eleven ever since.
Captain Keiran Morphew, another former Academy graduate, will continue to lead the team into their first ever season at step 2, as one of two of the longest serving players left at the club, also winning the club's Player Of The Year and Players' Player Of The Year last Friday.
Fellow centre-back, but no relation, Dan Morphew will be staying at Bloomfields. The vice-captain not only played a crucial part in defence last season but also notched 7 goals.
Left-back Tommy Smith, who picked up the Nunn Trophy and Supporters' Player Of The Year in a superb first season at the club, has also put pen to paper, having been virtually ever present last season.
Midfielder Kyle Hammond, who can also play in defence, will also remain with the Marketmen, having been virtually ever present, scoring some important goals this season - notably his goal of the season award-winning goal away to Hashtag United in the FA Cup.
Midfielder Dylan Williams has also committed to the Marketmen, having been a key figure in the middle of the pitch since joining from St Ives Town in February 2023.
Fellow midfielder Patrick Brothers, who took on the role of player-coach while being injured, has also committed his future to the club, having featured in a handful of games this season after recovering from a year out injured.
Our top scorer in the league, Jamie McGrath, has also put pen to paper, having scored 18 goals in all competitions this season - with 15 in the league, including his memorable hat-trick to seal the league title.
Record appearance maker, Luke Ingram will be staying for his 14th year at the club - and like Keiran was also at the club the last time the Marketmen got promoted, having notched 14 goals last campaign with the club's all time top goalscorer record firmly in his sights.
The following 3 players will be departing the club following the end of the 2023/24 season.
Defender Hugh Cullum, who progressed through the club's Academy into the First Team, will be moving on, having returned from his loan spell at Thetford Town towards the back of last season, playing an important role in the club's promotion from step 2. Hugh, also played a part in the team's historic 2022/23 FA Cup run to the first round proper, as well as representing England U18 Schoolboys the same season.
Midfielder Reece Harris will also be leaving the club, having scored 2 goals in an injury hit season, nonetheless playing his part in the team's success this season - after signing last summer.
Fellow midfielder Byron Lawrence has also left the club, having signed ahead of the 2019/20 season, and winning a couple of Suffolk Premier Cups with the club either side of his horrific injury in December 2021. Byron recovered from his injury earlier this season, and also played a part in winning the league.
The club would like to wish all 3 players well for the future, and thank them for their efforts while at the club.
Talks still ongoing with some players update will be given in due course.
