ALFIE OFF THE MARK FOR RESERVES IN SUFFOLK SENIOR CUP WIN

Needham Market side defeated Brandon Town 3-2 away from home in the Suffolk Senior Cup, with goals from Henry Vieira (2) and Alfie Mark.

Mark, on target for the first time for Reserves, said, "very pleased with win today to get us through to the next round, but I feel when we went 3-1 up in second half we could of managed the game a lot better instead of rushing it and giving ball away stupidly but played some good football at times on a bad pitch.

"The performance was decent against a big physical team but as I said before we lacked a bit of game management near end of the game to get us to the end.

"I'm very pleased to score in today’s game, first Reserves goal this season so very happy with that and good to gain a bit of confidence in front of goal. For my goal the ball got crossed in by Aden as he shifted it and whipped it back post and I made the run got on the end of it but keeper managed to save the header then I followed it up and tapped it in to make it 2-1, but was a good feeling to score to get us ahead.

"I would summarise the reserves season as unfortunate with some unlucky results that don’t reflect our performances but we get caught out. Against strong physical teams that have an advantage with there height and strength but we also play some good football at home on Astro that dismantle teams."
